Peaceful Fortress 10x17x10

After receiving the grant from the arts organization NoMAA, I began to explore a new creative direction. I started making sculptures with the notion of creating pieces with removable connecting parts that interact with the interior spaces. The compatibility of forms and spaces between and around them are challenging. It is a physical interpretation of much in life. While we all have our individuality, how we make our mark on others and the environment is of great importance. "Good Connections" the title of this series, also comments on the solitude of creating as a visual artist, and the difficulty but necessity, of getting your work out into the world.
